About Me

Olayemi Ononogbu is a board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. A graduate of Texas Woman’s University, where she received her master’s degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and her MBA. She received her Postmaster Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama.

Growing up in a community where mental health was deeply stigmatized and often left untreated, Yemi Ononogbu witnessed firsthand the toll this neglect can take—not only on individuals but on entire families. These early experiences ignited a passion in her to change the narrative surrounding mental health.

Yemi is committed to de-stigmatizing mental illness and expanding access to high-quality care. She believes mental health is just as important as physical health—and that when people receive the care they need, they are better equipped to care for themselves, their families, and their communities.

With a career that began as a certified nursing assistant at just 18, Yemi has worked across the healthcare spectrum—as a research assistant at Texas Tech University, an ICU nurse, a graduate assistant at Texas Woman’s University, and now as a dedicated nurse practitioner. Her experience spans home health and private practice, offering her a unique lens into the gaps in our healthcare system—particularly in mental health.

She has seen how untreated mental health conditions can devastate lives, and her mission is to build a practice that meets people where they are and opens the door to healing through compassionate, evidence-based care.
